Green Energy beats nuclear power

Nuclear power is more expensive than renewable energy. This is the major result of a current survey conducted by the German Environment Association. 100 power suppliers were asked for their power mix and related tariffs. In average 3.000 kWh electricity generated by 55 % of nuclear power would cost 740 EUR. In contrast the price for the same consumption would be less than 730 EUR when using renewable energy. Electricity generated by 100 % renewable energy would cost around 642,40 EUR. Therefore electricity tariffs raise with the amount of nuclear power.
